OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a highly skilled Bankruptcy Attorney with strong experience in bankruptcy law to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide strategic legal guidance on complex bankruptcy cases, restructurings, and creditor/debtor rights while ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This position requires bar admission in [Delaware, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Texas, Maryland] and involves collaboration with clients in a wide range of industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings, including corporate reorganizations, liquidations, and debt restructurings.
- Advise clients on financial restructuring, creditor and debtor rights, and insolvency matters.
- Analyze case details, develop strategic approaches, and execute comprehensive legal strategies for clients in bankruptcy and restructuring situations.
- Draft, review, and file legal motions, pleadings, and other court documents in accordance with federal and state laws.
- Conduct negotiations with creditors, trustees, and opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
- Appear in court for hearings, trials, and meetings with creditors as necessary.
- Work closely with clients to provide clarity on bankruptcy processes, asset protection, and legal obligations.
- Collaborate with attorneys in other jurisdictions to support multi-state filings and cross-border cases.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar admission(s) [New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Florida , Texas, Maryland, Florida]
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience practicing bankruptcy law, including substantial experience with Chapter 11 and corporate restructuring.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state bankruptcy laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and courtroom presentation skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficiency in legal research, case management, and court filing systems.
- Ability to handle multiple complex cases simultaneously, manage deadlines effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in creditor/debtor litigation or financial restructuring.
- Familiarity with cross-jurisdictional bankruptcy cases and multi-state regulatory requirements.
- Strong client relationship management skills and experience advising clients in diverse industries.
